The Curious Painter

STUDIO #16C

Artist Statement

I don’t like waste! I believe when art can be repurposed it is given new life; often with a surprisingly creative outcome.

Painting with watercolour excites me; I am an inquisitive painter! I enjoy experimenting with colour and texture and often ask myself, “How will it look if I add this colour or create this texture?” “What if I paint with something other than a paintbrush?”

My curiosity with paint and texture has inspired me to combine watercolour with collage, creating unique works of art. I am thrilled when I can repurpose and give new life to earlier works, I am excited when the result is an “aha” moment, and I am optimistic that my “oops” will provide more material for me to use.

I hope you enjoy the “aha” creations as much as I do.
